Weekly Summary: 16.10.13 – 22.10.13
by Beauchamp Art
Due to extenuating circumstances, this week was practically unproductive for, though I continued taking quotes from ‘Noise Water Meat’, read a short book on John Stezaker, and began Yevgent Zamyatin’s ‘We’, a heavy influence on ‘1984’.
After discussions with Nick about the first year practice being mostly focused on ‘finding one’s feet’, this maturing of ideas and refinement of efforts into second year should be beneficial to the works produced. As I am spending more time reading/reflecting, rather than just frantically working; the 10,000-word dissertation maybe a more positive demonstration of my practice than splitting the practical/academic workload 50:50, though shall discuss this with the tutors in the new term.
With this in mind, then refining one’s intent is beneficial; experimenting constructively, rather than for its own sake
A passing comment on women in the media, and thusly the minds of young men.
